TEHRAN- Bulgaria has the potential to act as energy and goods transfer corridor between Iran and European countries as it is cost-effective.

Hristo Polendakov, Bulgaria’s ambassador to Iran, said this in his meeting with Mohsen Jalalpour, the chairman of Iran Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines, and Agriculture (ICCIMA).
Some likely domains for bilateral cooperation between Iran and Bulgaria, according to the ambassador, are agriculture, food industries, industry, petrochemistry, tourism, and transportation.
In addition to joint ventures, the two countries can work on introducing joint brands, Polendakov asserted.
Bulgaria and Iran can be export channels for each other, as Iran can send its products to European countries and Bulgaria can have access to the Middle East, Asian, and commonwealth nations markets, Jalalpour, for his part, made the statement in the session.
To pick up the pace of economic cooperation between Iran and Bulgaria, there is a need for the signing of preferential tariff contracts, more communication between trade delegations, and the holding of joint committees, Jalalpour further noted.
Too, Jalalpour revealed that an agricultural delegation will be dispatched from Iran to Bulgaria to hold talks in the first quarter of the next Iranian calendar year.
Bulgaria’s ambassador let slip that his country’s foreign minister will call on Iran before long.
Bulgaria’s exports to Iran in the first half of the current Iranian calendar year (started on March 21) has slumped to a low of 4.403 tons worth $23.089 million from a high of 126.993 tons worth $758.794 million in the same time span last year.
