TEHRAN – The Iranian foreign minister and the EU foreign policy chief are expected to issue a joint statement to announce the official adoption of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).

Announcing the news, Deputy Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi said on Sunday the statement will be presented once the EU and the U.S. declare an end to the anti-Iran sanctions, Tasnim reported.

He added that on the adoption day, the nuclear-related sanctions imposed on Iran by the U.S. president’s executive orders will be reversed, the implementation of the U.S. Congress sanctions will be halted, and the EU will also lift all the economic sanctions on Iran.

Araqchi was to leave Tehran later the day for Vienna to attend a Monday meeting of Iran and 5+1 group deputy foreign ministers on the JCPOA.
