Kazakhstan eager to expand trade ties with Iran: official

TEHRAN- Kazakhstan is willing to expand its trade ties with Iran, according to Sabit Narbayev, an official with Kazakhstan’s National Export and Investment Agency, known as KAZNEX INVEST.
Narbayev, who is the director of the representative office of KAZNEX INVEST in Almaty, made the remarks in a meeting with Ali-Akbar Farazi, the vice chairman of Iran Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture (ICCIMA) for the international affairs, in Tehran on October 12, according to the official website of the ICCIMA.Kazakhstan’s government offers many facilities and incentives to the investors; the Kazakh official stated, adding that Iranian investors can benefit from the opportunities to make investment in Kazakhstan.
He put the worth of Iran-Kazakhstan trade at $987 million in 2014 with 59 percent rise from the figure in 2013.
Farazi, for his part, mentioned facilitation of visa issuance as the first step for expanding trade between the two countries.
In a meeting between Iranian Foreign Affairs Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif and his Kazakh counterpart Erlan Idrissov in Astana on April 13, the sides highlighted the expansion of economic and regional cooperation between their countries.
