TEHRAN - Egyptian writer and journalist Mohamed Hassanein Heikal has said that the Saudi airstrikes on Yemen have laid waste Yemen’s achievements of over one century.
Speaking to CBC news channel, Heikal criticized the Saudi government for leading a military coalition against Yemen. He regretted that the airstrikes have targeted civilians and civil infrastructures of Yemen.
The Arab world is watching a constant conflict while the fate of the conflict is decided from outside, he observed.
Saudi Arabia is pushing ahead with its relentless airstrikes on Yemen, further raising civilian casualties.
A civilian was killed and another person was injured in the latest wave of Saudi airstrikes that hit Ta'izz province on Friday.
Elsewhere the attacks killed a child in Hudaydah province and at least six other Yemenis in Sa’ada province.
The Saudi war has so far claimed nearly 6,500 lives in Yemen and displaced one point five million Yemenis internally.
