TEHRAN - The Friday prayer leader of Tehran has said that the United States disapproves of the Islamic Republic’s “nature” and this cannot change its attitude toward Iran.

“[The U.S.] disapproves of jihad, martyrdom, and freedom-seeking. They call terrorist the Lebanese Hezbollah, which is the purest group in history and is a pain in their neck with its pious leader,” Kazem Seddiqi said.

He added that the U.S. supports the sides that attack Yemen and it lacks any relevance in the Syrian crisis, Asriran reported.

“We recognize the legal government of Syria which people voted for. But they oppose that government,” Seddiqi underlined.

“If someone says that détente with America is in our interest he would have made a mistake. The Leader has given them the answer that negotiations with America have no benefit for us, but will entail numerous damages.”
