TEHRAN - A senior principlist MP has warned against attempts by rival groups to occupy seats at the Assembly of Experts, the Khabar Online news website reported Friday.

“Some people have daydreamed about the Assembly of Experts. They are trying to run a minority into the assembly and from there to play out of tune with the state. We hope their dreams do not come true,” Mohammad Reza Bahonar said.

He also commented on the upcoming parliamentary elections, saying, “Reformists are sure to work hard for the next Majlis. This is a threat.”

“Reformists have changed their ways, but not their intentions,” the veteran MP stated.
