TEHRAN - The commander of the Iranian Army’s ground force says the country plans to stage six military drills in different parts of the country, most notably in southeast, northwest and southwest, by the end of the current Iranian year which falls March 19, 2016.

Each one of the exercises would focus on a specific military expertise, Brigadier General Ahmad Reza Pourdastan told reporters on Tuesday.

One of the drills, Pourdastan said, will be performed jointly with forces from the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) and Basij (volunteer forces).
