TEHRAN – Iranian artist Behnaz Paibarja enjoys turning children’s drawings into plush toys in her Tehran studio.

Different teams including graphic designers and experts have been cooperating with Paibarja for the past 4 years to give life to the imaginary world of children.

“I began to communicate with an artist in Germany who was working on this project. She had several branches in Australia, Britain and the United States, and I wanted to collaborate as their agent in Iran, but the request was rejected so I finally decided to establish my own studio, ‘My Doll’, in 2011,” Paibarja told the Persian service of Honaronline on Tuesday.

“When children touch the toy made with their own imagination they are extremely impressed, their parents also have the same feelings and this is quite precious for us,” she added.

Graphic designer Solmaz Ebrahimitabar also explained that they need to know more about the details of a drawing before they make the dolls. “A team of psychologists also collaborate with us to study the paintings and the inner feelings of the children”.

“First of all, a team of experts begin studying the drawings and then graphic designers begin the primary designs, and afterwards the process of making the dolls begins, finally they are packed and delivered,” Paibarja explained.

“Almost 90 percents of the doll is the same as the primary drawing, however sometimes parents or even the child wants to make changes in the drawing,” she added.

Paibarja further noted that they have made dolls for adults too, adding, “Sometimes we receive drawings from adults who want their drawings turned into dolls.”

“We have new ideas and new goals and are hoping for good days for the studio and our work,” she concluded.
