Iran holding no talks with U.S. on regional issues: diplomat

TEHRAN – Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian said on Thursday that Iran is holding no talks with the U.S. on issues related to the Mideast region.
Amir-Abdollahian stated that Iran holds talks with the neighboring countries on regional “security, stability and long lasting development”.Iran attaches great importance to the role of Saudi Arabia in this regard, he added.
The Iranian deputy foreign minister stated that the regional issues can be resolve by involvement of all the countries in the region.
“The regional countries, specifically Saudi Arabia, can play a pivotal role in helping establish peace, stability and security in the region,” Amir-Abdollahian said.
Elsewhere in his remarks, he said that military action against Yemen spreads extremism, terrorism and sectarian clashes.
Commenting on the talks between Iran and the 5+1 group (the five permanent members of the UN Security Council plus Germany), he said that the sides are just focusing on the Iran nuclear issue.
