Intl. festival of Islamic arts opens in Tabriz

TEHRAN – The 2nd International Festival of Islamic Arts, Crafts and Creativity opened in Tabriz on Friday to showcase artworks from over 35 countries.

The biennial, which is organized by the Research Center for Islamic History, Art and Culture (IRCICA), and Tabriz University for Islamic Arts, will run until May 15.

The organizers are scheduled to hold several meetings during the event.

The festival aims to safeguard methods to create traditional handicrafts and also to restore forgotten traditional arts.
