TEHRAN –Iranian Finance and Economic Affairs Minister Ali Tayyebnia and Czech Chamber of Deputies Vice Chairman Vojtech Filip called for expansion of bilateral economic ties between the two countries in a meeting in Tehran on Monday.

Referring to the approach of Islamic Republic of Iran in the development of political and economic ties with other countries, Tayyebnia expressed hope that Iran and Czech Republic will sign agreements to boost bilateral economic and trade relations, according to the Mehr News Agency.

The Czech official, for his part, called for expansion of ties between the private sectors of the two countries and expressed hope that by establishing Iran-Czech Republic Joint Chamber of Commerce, the ground is prepared for development of bilateral trade ties.

He evaluated his trip to Iran as highly positive and said that many renowned Czech companies, which are active in the car manufacturing and other industries, are ready for activity in the Iranian market.

Filip, heading a Czech trade-industrial delegation, arrived in Tehran on April 12 for a four-day visit.

Members of the delegation were active in the energy sector and the capital market, the construction of water treatment units, as well as the production of cars and spare parts, pumps and fittings, glass and crystal products, and also non-alcoholic beverages.

Czech firms mainly export machinery products, electrical goods, and other products to Iran, while the bulk of imports from Iran consists of fruit and vegetables.
