IFRC hails Iran’s humanitarian aid to disaster-hit countries

TEHRAN -- The secretary general of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) has said that Iran is a model for other countries in terms of sending humanitarian aid to disaster-stricken countries.
Bekele Geleta made the remarks during a meeting with Iranian Interior Minister Mostafa Mohammad-Najjar in Tehran on Monday.During the meeting, Geleta thanked Iran for having good cooperation with the IFRC and providing disaster-affected countries with humanitarian assistance.
Najjar briefed the IFRC secretary general on humanitarian aid that it has recently offered to a number of countries, including Haiti, Pakistan, and Japan.
He also said that the cooperation of volunteer forces with the Iranian Red Crescent Society gives it an advantage over other similar societies
