Iranian institute to screen movies in Denmark

TEHRAN -- The Iranian Visual Media Institute has arranged a program “New Iranian Cinema” in Denmark where a selection of Iranian films will be shown in May.

Six Iranian films are scheduled to go on screen in Copenhagen for two weeks beginning on May 4, the Persian service of MNA reported on Wednesday.
“About Elly” which brought director Asghar Farhadi the Silver Bear for best director at the Berlinale 2009 is due to open the fortnight named “New Iranian Cinema” in Copenhagen.
Iranian and Danish officials, diplomats, and cinematic figures are expected to attend the opening ceremony.
“Punishment” by director Hassan Fat’hi, “Third Day” by Mohammad-Hossein Latifi, “The Last Queen of the Earth” by Mohammadreza Arab, “Shirin” by Abbas Kiarostami, and “Fox Hunting” by Majid Javanmard will go on screen during the program.
Iranian film week in Tajikistan was the other program organized by the institute late March where several Iranian productions were shown and a group of actors and directors took part.
