TEHRAN -- Veteran photographer Seifollah Samadian will be holding his first solo exhibit under the title “Bamdad” at Tehran’s Gallery 6 opening on December 3.

The exhibit features a collection of 20 photos in black and white taken during 1991 to 1993 at the private home of contemporary poet Ahmad Shamlu in Karaj, a town near Tehran.
Shamlu (1925-2000) was one of the top Iranian poets in the style of blank verse.
The title of the exhibit “Bamdad” is also taken from Shamlu’s pen name “Bamdad”.
Samadian began to learn photography in 1968 at the age of 15 with his older brother in the basement of their house in Urmia, West Azerbaijan Province. He gained much experience during his 42 years of photography, especially in the scope of social issues.
His love of poetry pushed him hold the solo exhibit on the occasion of the 85th birth anniversary of the poet.
A catalogue containing the works on display will be available at the gallery that will include an introduction by Samadian and Shamlu’s widow Aida.
The exhibit will run until December 13 at the gallery located at No.6, 18th Alley off North Kheradmand St.
