TEHRAN - Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei has advised the Judiciary not to be influenced by political propaganda and pressure.

“One of the great dangers is that political propaganda by various parties, newspapers, and foreign media outlets will affect… the issuance of rulings and legal proceedings,” Ayatollah Khamenei said at a meeting with Judiciary Chief Ayatollah Sadeq Amoli Larijani and some other senior judicial officials on Monday.
It is the Judiciary’s important responsibility to administer justice, and judicial officials should not be influenced by feelings, friendships, and animosities when issuing rulings, he stated.
The Judiciary is a very important institution in the Islamic system, and all bodies should support it, the Leader added.
Elsewhere in his remarks, Ayatollah Khamenei said that some amendments must be made to judicial regulations and the judicial system should be updated.
The meeting was held on the anniversary of a terrorist attack by the Mujahedin Khalq Organization (MKO) in Tehran in 1981.
On June 28, 1981, the MKO planted a bomb in the Islamic Republic Party’s main office, killing Judiciary Chief Ayatollah Mohammad Hosseini Beheshti and 72 high-ranking Iranian officials, including a number of MPs.
The Leader said that Ayatollah Beheshti was an honest, pious, and humble person.
Although the incident was catastrophic, it also had a very constructive effect on the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Khamenei noted.
