Iran increases DUI fine to $200

TEHRAN -- The fine for driving while intoxicated will be increased to two million rials (approximately $200), Iranian Traffic Police Chief Eskander Momeni said on Saturday.

And the driver’s automobile will be impounded, Momeni added.
In addition to fines, points will be deducted from the records of drivers who violate traffic regulations, he stated.
If 30 points are deducted from the record of an individual for the first time, that person’s driver’s license will be revoked for three months
