Iran inflation declines to 13.5%

TEHRAN – The Central Bank of Iran reported that inflation rate during the Iranian calendar month of Azar (November 22-December 21, 2009) decreased to 13.5 percent from 15 percent in the previous month.

The commodity price index, however, grew by 1.3 percent compared to the preceding month, the report added.
The Mehr News Agency cited the CBI report as stating the commodity price index has grown 7.4 percent compared to the same month the year before.
The inflation rate in the twelve-month period ending December 21, 2009 compared to the year ending December 21, 2008 stood at 13.5 percent
