SP phases 17 & 18 over 34% complete

TEHRAN – The phases 17 and 18 of giant South Pars gas field were 34 percent complete by the end of Iranian month of Aban (November 21).
It is estimated that the two mentioned phases will progress by 40 percent by the end of the current Iranian calendar year (March 20, 2010), Moj News Agency reported.The South Pars phases 17 and 18 are projected to produce daily 1.75 billion cubic feet of sweet gas, 2,880 tons of propane and butane, 1,000 barrels of gas condensates, 400 tons of sulfur.
The mentioned phases are supposed to come on stream in 2012.
The South Pars gas field is located in the Persian Gulf. It is the world’s largest gas field, shared between Iran and Qatar.
The gas field covers an area of 9,700 square kilometers, of which 3,700 square kilometers (South Pars) is in Iranian territorial waters and 6,000 square kilometers (North Dome) is in Qatari territorial waters.
According to International Energy Agency, the field holds an estimated 50.97 trillion cubic meters (1,800 trillion cubic feet) of in-situ gas and some 50 billion barrels of condensates
