“Song of Sparrows” to open Indian filmfest

TEHRAN -- Majid Majidi’s acclaimed film “Song of Sparrows” will be the opening movie of the first Visakhapatnam International Film Festival in India.
The festival is being held from October 25 to 29 under the aegis of the Federation of Film Societies of India (FFSI) on the occasion of its Golden Jubilee celebrations throughout the country.
Shajarian to introduce new instruments in Paris
TEHRAN -- Veteran Iranian vocalist Mohammadreza Shajarian will be introducing his new instruments, sorahi, saghar, and kereshmeh, during a four-day seminar, which will open at the Sorbonne University on October 25.
The stringed instruments were first introduced in Tehran last April..
