TEHRAN - A National Police official has denied the rumors claiming that there was an assassination attempt on the life of the deputy police chief of Kordestan Province earlier this week.

Such reports are being disseminated by elements that are seeking to make the people feel insecure, Colonel Mehdi Ahmadi told the Mehr News Agency on Friday.
