Police deny rumors of assassination attempt on Kordestan Prov. deputy police chief

TEHRAN - A National Police official has denied the rumors claiming that there was an assassination attempt on the life of the deputy police chief of Kordestan Province earlier this week.
Such reports are being disseminated by elements that are seeking to make the people feel insecure, Colonel Mehdi Ahmadi told the Mehr News Agency on Friday.There have been numerous rumors that terrorists attempted to assassinate the deputy police chief of Kordestan Province earlier this week.
In a recent wave of terrorist attacks, gunmen have killed two important clergymen and wounded two judges in Sanandaj, the capital of Kordestan Province in western Iran.
Mamousta Sheikholeslam, a representative of Kordestan in the Assembly of Experts, was killed by terrorists in Sanandaj on September 17.
Sanandaj Friday prayers leader Mamousta Borhan Ali was assassinated in the capital of Kordestan Province on September 12.
