Leader Rules Out Normalization of Relations With U.S.

TEHRAN The Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei on Tuesday ruled out any possibility of a normalization of relations with the United States. Ayatollah Khamenei here yesterday received thousands of the university and school students on the occasion of birth anniversary of Imam Ali, the First Imam of Prophet Mohammad (S) Household, and on the occasion of the Student Day. Our importance around the world and in the eyes of other peoples is based on our standing up to the United States, he said.
After the revolution, the diplomats turned the embassy into a nest of spies and plots against Iran and that's why people wouldn't tolerate it, he said. The Americans' desire then and now has always been to dominate Iran economically and politically as it did before the revolution. The apparent change of tone fails to hide their real nature, he added. Iran does not need the United States to overcome its economic crisis, the Leader said.
The Leader in his speech said that the arrogant powers are against the Iranian nation, Islamic Revolution and the sovereign state of the Islamic Republic of Iran due to its influence over other nations on the preservation of their identity, alertness and resistance vis-a-vis the arrogant satanic designs. Referring to the prevailing problems in the communities of mankind and the domineering policies of the world of arrogance, Ayatollah Khamenei stated, lack of insight and patience has caused many nations to fall under the domination of the colonial powers.
In the pre-revolution period, Iran faced similar maligns which led to British, Russian and then the U.S dominations over the destiny of the Iranian nation for many years, the Leader said. The Leader of the Islamic Revolution then added that when some knowledgeables and intellectuals and a great personality like the late Imam Khomeini appeared in the political scene of Iran, they inspired the Iranian nation by imparting them with the lesson of attaining insightness and the show of resistance." It was through such historical lessons that the Iranian nation was able to create a new horizon in the history of Iran and decisively end the foreign domination over the country, Ayatollah Khamenei stated.
Calling on nations to preserve their alertness and resistance, the Leader said that the arrogant powers and those at the head of economic companies and cancerous propaganda machineries have been spending billions of dollars on fighting the alertness and resistance of the nations in order to pave the way for continuation of their domination over other nations. Ayatollah Khamenei specified that the Islamic Revolution of Iran was successful in clearing off `the clouds of disappointment' by awakening many nations and that a large number of the youths in different countries have become the followers of the true ideology of Islam. The Leader added that Islam is against domination of any power over the Muslim nations and calls on nations to resist any domineering policy, this is why the arrogance senses danger of the Islamic alertness and resistance.
