TEHRAN -- Iranian actress of stage and screen Parvin Soleimani died at her home on Monday evening on June 1. She was 87.

The brain tumor made her suffer for a long time and she was hospitalized for a while, said her granddaughter actress Mahchehreh Khalili.
“We brought her home last month and she was in bed all the time, at most half conscious. She made no movements and only showed reaction when we held her hand. She left us all in her silence,” she said.
Parvin Soleimani was born in 1922 in Tehran. She began her artistic career at the age of 22 with the play “Shahrzad, the Narrator.” She also began to work in radio in those years.
“Golnesa” by Serj Azarian was her first movie in the cinema in 1952. She played in over 80 films including “Ehtejab Prince” (Bahman Farmanara), “The Deer” (Masud Kimiaii), “Shadow of Scorpion” (Kianush Ayyari), and “The Demon” (Ahmadreza Darvish).
Soleimani had also played in several TV films and series like “Noruz Vacation,” “Auntie Sara,” “School of Grandmas” and “Filthy Thought”.
Her funeral procession will begin on Wednesday in front of Iran’s House of Cinema in Tehran and she will be buried in the artists’ section of Tehran’s Behesht-e Zahra Cemetery.
