TEHRAN -- A total of 18 Iranian films will be available at the Film Market of the Cannes Film Festival, Amir Esfandiari mentioned in a press release on Sunday.

No doubt that the films accepted by the Cannes festival receive a boost in marketing, but sometimes films that go on screen at the Cannes Film Market achieve even greater success in the world market, the director of the International Department of the Farabi Cinematic Foundation Esfandiari mentioned.
The Cannes festival dedicated a large space to companies who are active in the film industry and the visitors will be professionals who want to buy Iranian film rights as well as conduct research on Iranian cinema, he said.
“Films will be on screen at specific movie theaters from morning to midnight each day, but we will also have the facility to screen films in our space for the visitors,” he added.
The Cannes Film Market (Marché du Film) takes place parallel to the Festival and is the most important gathering of film industry professionals from all over the world, where they buy and sell film rights, find co-producers and network with one another.
The Marché du Film favors exchanges and also gives great visibility to participants present, offering a slate of available services that includes meetings, exhibition spaces and screenings.
The 62nd Cannes Film Festival will take place from May 13 to 24.
