Tehrani youth honor filmmaker Hatamikia

TEHRAN -- Filmmaker Ebrahim Hatamikia was honored during the closing ceremony of “A Frame for the Youth” festival held at Tehran’s IRIB Conference Hall on Monday.

Hatamikia expressed his appreciation upon receiving his plaque of honor and called it a great occasion, “this selection has given me a surge of energy.”
He further noted, “This (Iran-Iraq) war gave the youth of those years the chance to prove their ability and show they can defend their country. Today’s youth can also do the same if others believe in them.”
Hatamikia was selected from the list of the directors Rasul Sadr-Ameli, Majid Majidi and actor Faramarz Qaribian.
Organized by Tehran Municipality, the festival was organized to pay tribute to the six most influential persons after the Islamic Revolution. The selections were made based on responses given by Tehrani youth in an opinion poll.
The other figures were Allameh Hassanzadeh Amoli, Ayatollah Mohammadreza Mahdavi-Kani, Marzieh Dabbagh, Hojjatoleslam Rastgu, and Tahereh Saffarzadeh.
In addition, 25 active youth in different categories of literature, art, sports, science, media and culture were also awarded. They included Abolfazl Nazari, Arman Aryan, Akram Ashtiyani, Mohsen Akbari, Hamid Seifi, Maryam Eslami, Mohammad Yari, and Hamed Hosseini.
The ceremony concluded with a live musical performance by Alireza Eftekhari.
