Resistance key to resolving problems in Islamic world: leader

TEHRAN - Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei on Tuesday said “resistance” and the “feeling of power” are key to resolve problems in the Islamic world.

The Leader made the remarks in a meeting with Algerian President Abdelaziz Bouteflika.
Bouteflika who was in Tehran for a three-day visit left for Algeria on Tuesday. During his stay three cooperation agreements were signed between the two countries.
The Leader said, “The experience of Algeria in North Africa and also the experience of Iran show that the nations’ insistence on their rights and demanding them will yield result.”
He said that governments, as people’s representatives, must seriously seek their people’s rights.
“Despite pressure, threats, and sanctions, Iranian people and officials have made great achievements due to their resistance against the hegemonistic system.”
Ayatollah Khamenei also said the achievements of the Palestinian nation, the establishment of the popular Hamas government, and the political and military victories of Lebanese people are the result of their resistance and faith.
The Algerian president also expressed hope that his visit to Tehran would prepare the ground for expansion of ties with Iran.
