Iranian cartoonist awarded at Italian festival

TEHRAN -- The Iranian cartoonist Mohammad Khalaji has won the Special Prize at the Humour A Gallarate International Cartoon Contest in Italy.
He has also recently received awards at various other international festivals including Brazil’s Humor of Pernambuco and the International Salon Diogenes at Taborda, Argentina.----Iranian school bells to ring in honor of Rumi
TEHRAN -- Iranian school bells will be rung in honor of Molana Jalal ad-Din Rumi on October 28 marking the inauguration of the international Rumi convention.
Iran’s Rumi week will be held from October 26 to November 2 to commemorate his 800th birth anniversary. The international Rumi convention will also be hosted in Tehran, Khoy, and Tabriz.
----Shajarian to give concert in Shiraz
TEHRAN -- Mohammadreza Shajarian will give a concert in Shiraz in mid-November after his Isfahan performances.
The concerts held in Isfahan will take place on four nights, starting October 22 but his Tabriz appearances have been canceled.
