Prominent Lebanese religious leader appreciates Iranian resolve

BEIRUT (IRNA) -- Prominent Lebanese Shia leader Seyyed Muhammad Hussein Fazlollah appreciated the resolve of the Iranian people and officials in the face of foreign pressures against its peaceful nuclear plans.

In a meeting on Tuesday with the Iranian Ambassador to Lebanon Mohammad-Reza Sheibani, he added that acquiring purely peaceful nuclear technology has become a national necessity and choice for Iran.

Appreciating Iranian scientific advances in various fields such as nuclear technology, the Lebanese religious leader expressed hope that Iran could overcome the current sensitive phase with insight and success.

Fazlollah also thanked Iran for its support for Lebanon in various fields, particularly in the current developments.
