TEHRAN -- The Indian security officials in Bombay on Tuesday denied a report published by the Indian daily Asian Age on detainment of an Iranian ship. The New-Delhi based daily wrote on Saturday that the Iranian commercial ship Erkon had been detained at Bombay Port. The Indian officials, in a letter sent to the Iranian Embassy in New Delhi, denied the report carried by the Asian Age. They said that no Iranian ship had been detained by the Indian security forces in Bombay. The daily's report said that the ship was detained because it had stopped at Karachi Port in Pakistan on the way to Bombay and because some of its crew members were of Pakistani nationality.
