Iran’s Police Chief Meets Chinese Deputy Security Minister

BEIJING (IRNA) -- Commander of the Islamic Republic of Iran Police Brigadier General Mohammad-Baqer Qalibaf here on Friday conferred with People's Republic of China’s Deputy Public Security Minister Tian Chi Yu.

During the meeting the two sides exchanged viewpoints on possible ways to boost cooperation between the two countries' police forces, and the exchange of experience in various fields.

The topics discussed between Qalibaf and the Chinese official included the international campaign against narcotic drugs and human trafficking, cooperation in campaign against terrorism, money laundering, and organized crimes, and he newly emerging Internet crimes.

The two sides meanwhile, keeping in mind the proximity of the two countries' approaches towards disciplinary forces and security issues, expressed interest in exchanging expert delegations and signing memoranda of understanding (MoUs) between the Iranian and Chinese police forces, aimed at establishing cooperation between them.

The Iranian Police Commander Brigadier General Qalibaf during the meeting invited the Chinese deputy public security minister to pay a visit to the Islamic Republic of Iran in his earliest convenient opportunity.

Also, the Iranian and Chinese security and disciplinary affairs officials and officers had a joint expert-level session on Friday, during which they discussed issues on security, narcotic drugs, and identity specification issues.

Brigadier General Qalibaf arrived in Beijing atop a security and disciplinary delegation on Thursday morning for an official visit to the People's Republic of China.
