Iran Envoy, Chinese Officials Discuss Bilateral Ties

BEIJING (IRNA) – Iran’s Envoy to Beijing Fereydoun Verdinejad and Head of the Chinese TV Broadcasting Corporation Jao Hua Young in a meeting on Friday discussed ways and means to bolster ties.

In the meeting, the sides discussed new avenues of the bilateral cooperation in all areas and in particular in the TV broadcasting matters.

Verdinejad commented on the discussions held between the Iranian and Chinese officials involved in the broadcasting areas earlier and proper measures to translate into action the clauses of the already inked agreements between the two countries.

He said the head of the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB) had visited China in 1997 and his deputy visited the country in 2001 to discuss the mutual relations.

Verdinejad said Iran stands ready to continue and improve cooperation with China on the clauses of the previously signed agreements.

He commented on the capabilities of the IRIB and called for the exchange of delegations to follow the process of implementing the said agreements.

He said IRIB stands ready to make films in collaboration of Chinese TV.

Young termed Iran and China as two important and civilized countries and said Chinese Broadcasting is interested to enjoy improved ties with IRIB.
