Tehran to Host 3rd Int'l Mechanical Engineering Conference

TEHRAN - The Third International Mechanical Engineering Conference and the Sixth Conference of Iranian Mechanical Engineers' Association is to open here at Iran's Elm-o-San'at (Science and Industry) University today. Chancellor of the university Javad Azhari said here yesterday that the the conference aims to build link between industry and university and to provide a suitable ground for exchange of information between Iranian and foreign experts.
Azhari said that a total of 270 out of 530 essays sent to the secretariat of the conference have been selected for presentation at the three-day gathering. He added that 20 percent of the essays have been written by 40 scholars from 15 countries. The U.S., Canada, Britain, France, Greece, Sweden, Australia and India would be among the countries to be represented at the conference on the sideline of which Iran's first ever solar house is to be inaugurated.
Azhari concluded that 16 educational workshops are also to be held on the sidelines of the confab. (IRNA)
