ABU DHABI United Arab Emirates (UAE) divers on a pearling journey to revive pre-oil traditions have found a large crystal clear pearl worth more than 50,000 dollars, a newspaper reported on Friday. Al-Khaleej newspaper, which carried a picture of the Dana pearl, said it was found near Dalma Island off Abu Dhabi during a 10-day expedition, which also yielded hundreds of small pearls.
A diver said the round pearl has a diameter of around 1.5 centimetres (just over half an inch). (AFP)
