Iran’s Saravi snatches gold at 2025 World Wrestling Championships

TEHRAN – Mohammadhadi Saravi of Iran claimed a gold medal at the 2025 World Wrestling Championships on Saturday.
The Greco-Roman wrestler beat Artur Sargsian (UWW) 3-1 in the final bout of 97kg.
Saravi first defeated Indian wrestler Nitesh Siwach 4-0 in Round of 16, and then beat Georgian Giorgi Melia and Kiryl Maskevich (UWW) in quarterfinals and semifinals.
Kiryl Maskevich (UWW) and Murad Ahmadiyev of Azerbaijan won two bronze medals.
The 2025 World Wrestling Championships are being held in Zagreb, Croatia from Sept. 13 to 21.
