TEHRAN- The director of the Iranian Space Agency (ISA) has announced that there are 14 satellites planned for launch.

During a briefing on the accomplishments of the Iranian Space Agency under the 13th administration, Hassan Salarieh stated on Thursday that ISA has completed 12 launches, matching the total from 12 years ago.

Furthermore, he noted that the Agency has successfully placed eight satellites into orbit, which is equivalent to the achievements of the last three administrations in terms of launches.

Salarieh highlighted that there are 14 satellites on the launch schedule, with an additional 30 satellites currently in development, 20 of which will be produced by the private sector.

The Iranian Space Agency (ISA) was founded on February 28, 2004, following Article 9 of the law for tasks and authorizations of the Iranian Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, which was enacted by the Iranian Parliament on December 10, 2003.

As outlined in its established statute, ISA is responsible for overseeing and promoting all activities related to the peaceful use of space science and technology in Iran, operating under the guidance of a Supreme Council of Space led by the Iranian president.
