| Weightlifter Rostami wins gold in World Championship |

Kianoush Rostami from Iran claimed the gold medal in the men’s 85kg of the World Junior Weightlifting Championships on Monday.
In the competition held at the Penang International Sports Arena (PISA) in Malaysia, the Iranian lifter hoisted 168kg in the snatch, 210kg in the clean and jerk for a total of 378kg.
“I am so happy to win the gold medal. I was injured but succeeded to win the title,” Rostami told reporters.
Apti Aukadov from Russia won the silver medal by lifting 172kg in the snatch, 206kg in the clean and jerk and 378kg overall.
Russian Egor Klimonov snatched the bronze medal in the weight class. He lifted 160kg in the snatch, 200kg in the clean and jerk for a total of 360kg.
The 37th Men and 17th Women World Junior Weightlifting Championships have brought more than 300 weightlifters from 76 countries together.
