altEsteqlal has gained a 2-0 victory against Fajr Sepasi to remain in the second spot in Iran's Premier League (IPL) at the end of the fourth week.

The Blues, coached by Parviz Mazloumi, won its third successive victory at Tehran's gigantic Azadi Stadium before more than 60,000 spectators late on Wednesday.

Esteqlal's Kuwaiti halfback Walid Ali took the lead for the host in the 43rd minute of the match.

Later in the second half, the Blues pushed forward and managed to score the second goal via Esteqlal's 35-year-old captain Farhad Majidi who took advantage of the visitor's goalie's mistake in the 48th minute.

Speaking to reporters after the match, Mazloumi expressed satisfaction at the performance of his men but was unhappy with the team's halfback line.

“We have not met our demands yet and are waiting for the return of our injured players,” the club's manager said.
