Persepolis named Yahya Golmohammadi as the assistant coach of the team on Monday.
The 41-year-old coach will assist Portuguese Manuel Jose, who fell short of expectations in the current season.
Golmohammadi stepped down as Saba coach after defeat against Naft on Sunday.
“I will do my best in Persepolis. Mr. Jose will make the final decision on the matters and I will assist him to make better decision. That’s why I’m here,” Golmohammadi said.
Saba officials have announced Golmohammadi has quit their team due to his heart problems. Golmohammadi said, “No, there is no connection between my heart problems and resignation from Saba.”
Persepolis is 15th in the standings table of the Iran Professional League.
Golmohammadi was player of Persepolis football team for seven years.
