Iran condemns attacks on Muslim leaders in Tatarstan

c_330_235_16777215_0___images_stories_edim_02_ep1(28).jpgTEHRAN - The Iranian Embassy in Moscow issued a statement on Friday condemning the twin attacks carried out in Russia’s mainly Muslim republic of Tatarstan on Thursday in which Chief Mufti Ildus Faizov was injured and his deputy, Valiulla Yakupov, was killed.
 
“The Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran… emphasizes that such terrorist actions are carried out with the aim of undermining the status of Islam and Muslims in the world and creating discord among Muslims and believes that such anti-humanitarian actions have their roots in the wrong policies of the U.S. government and the Zionist regime and their regional lackeys,” part of the statement read.
