50 scholars from Malaysia, Russia, Indonesia, Iraq, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia, Thailand, Algeria, Britain, the Untied States, Australia, Denmark, Tunisia, Qatar, China, Yemen, Egypt, and other countries have participated in the conference.

The conference, which will end on February 10, will focus on “Islamic awakening” and an assessment of the performance of WFPIST over the past 20 years.

Commenting on the Islamic Revolution in 1979, Ahmadinejad said, “All Iran, our revolution, the late Imam Khomeini (RA), and the Supreme Leader are trying to say is that we should follow the path of monotheism.”

Iran is not seeking to dominate the world, the Iranian president said, adding that the country is a land of various ethnic groups and tribes who hand in hand are following the path of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).

He went on to say that according to the late Imam Khomeini (RA), if anyone sought to dominate others, he would stray from the path of the Prophet (PBUH).

Elsewhere in his remarks, Ahmadinejad said that all nations have the right to freedom and self-determination, and everyone should stand up for these rights in light of the teachings of the Prophet and dear Islam.

Nations’ conscience is being awakened, he said, adding that today, all peoples want justice to be promoted, and Muslim nations should be vigilant against the domineering powers who are seeking to reopen the path to the plunder of the nations’ wealth.
