|Iran urges OIC to take action to end violence in Egypt||
TEHRAN – New Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif held a telephone conversation with Organization of Islamic Cooperation Secretary General Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu on Friday, calling on the OIC to take action to end the violence in Egypt.
Zarif described the situation in the Arab country as “critical”, saying that the OIC has to find peaceful solutions to prevent further internal conflict in the country and defuse the crisis.
Ihsanoglu congratulated Zarif on his confirmation as foreign minister and also expressed concern about the situation in Egypt.
“The Organization of Islamic Cooperation will make every effort to help resolve the crisis in Egypt peacefully,” he said.
