Khalid al-Said Ibrahim Amari made the remarks during an interview with IRNA on the occasion of the second anniversary of Egypt’s revolution published on Saturday.

“The two great Middle Eastern countries of Iran and Egypt have had their own particular policies on regional issues,” he said, adding due to the mounting crises in the region it matters greatly that the two countries expand their bilateral relations.

He also expressed delight at the planned visit of the Iranian president to Cairo to attend a summit of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation in early February.
