Syrian PM in Tehran for talks with Iranian officials

c_330_235_16777215_0___images_stories_edim_02_ep3(96).jpgTEHRAN – Syrian Prime Minister Wael Nader al-Halqi arrived in Tehran on Tuesday at the head of a high-ranking delegation to hold talks with Iranian officials. 
 
Iranian First Vice President Mohammad Reza Rahimi officially welcomed the Syrian delegation at Tehran’s Mehrabad International Airport. 
 
Al-Halqi is scheduled to hold talks with a number of Iranian officials, including President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, Majlis Speaker Ali Larijani, and the secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, Saeed Jalili. 
 
Iranian and Syrian delegations met in Tehran on Monday in preparation for al-Halqi’s visit. 
 
After Monday’s meeting, the head of the Iranian delegation, Hassan Kazemi-Qomi, said that the two sides explored ways of expanding bilateral economic relations, Kazemi-Qomi added that Iran is ready to share its experience with the Arab country to help it weather the current crisis.
