|Iran unveils new tactical vehicle, sniper rifle||
TEHRAN – Two new achievements of the Iranian Army, namely the Neynava tactical vehicle and the Shaher sniper rifle, were unveiled during a ceremony on Saturday.
The domestically designed Neynava tactical vehicle, which weighs 2.5 tons and is equipped with a 240 horsepower engine, can carry a load of five tons and can meet various tactical needs of the Army.
The Shaher sniper rifle, which weighs 22 kilograms, is 185 centimeters long, and has an effective range of 4000 meters. It has been designed and manufactured by the experts at the Self-Sufficiency Jihad of the Army.
The rifle can be used to destroy concrete bunkers, armored vehicles, and helicopters.
On the sidelines of the ceremony, Army Commander Ahmad Reza Pourdastan said that the Iranian army is the most powerful army in the region and is completely prepared to defend the territorial integrity of the Islamic Republic.
He also said that the Army is able to deal with any threats in view of the fact that it has been equipped with military equipment and weapons that are being mass-produced in the country.
In addition, he said that the country’s need for military equipment can be met through using the capabilities of Iranian young and committed experts.
