“The Americans do not approve of the Zionist regime’s foreign policy,” Mehmanparast said in Shanghai on Friday.

The Zionist regime’s policies are not currently serving the interests of the U.S., he said, adding, “Today, the Zionist regime has become a problem for the United States in the region.”

Elsewhere in his remarks, the Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman stated that the U.S. is seeking to make changes to the structure of the United Nations Security Council to limit the sphere of influence of China and Russia.

In addition, Mehmanparast commented on the developments occurring in the region and said that independent regional countries should make efforts to foil U.S. plots in the Middle East region and prevent regional security and stability from being undermined.

On the situation in Syria, he stated that the U.S. is providing support for Syrian rebels.
