Leader Pardons or Commutes Prison Terms of 1,454 Inmates

TEHRAN On the eve of the auspicious occasion of Eid-ul-Ghadir the Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei here Wednesday pardoned or commuted the prison terms of 1,454 inmates. The amnesty was proposed by the Judiciary Chief Ayatollah Mohammad Yazdi and endorsed by the Leader. The prisoners were sentenced by the public and Islamic revolutionary courts and military tribunals.
