Germany to ban Iran’s Mahan Air flights: source
TEHRAN – Germany is to stop Iran’s Mahan Air from operating flights in and out of the country in line with U.S.-led sanctions against the Islamic Republic, Reuters quoted Bild, a German newspaper, as saying on Friday.
Bild assumed that the German government had taken a decision to ban Mahan Air from operating its flights to Dusseldorf and Munich after intensive deliberations on U.S. demands.
Talking to Reuters, a German government spokesman said he could not comment on the report in Bild, which said Mahan Air would be banned in January.
The U.S. administration has reportedly sanctioned several companies for their links to Mahan Air, including a Thai aviation company and a Malaysia-based sales agent.
The privately-owned Mahan Air says on its website that it also operates flights to Paris, Barcelona, Milan and Athens.
