TEHRAN – Iraqi Grand Ayatollah Ali al-Sistani on Saturday thanked Iran’s Ayatollah Lotfollah Safi Golpaygani for his congratulatory message over the liberation of Mosul from Daesh.

In a letter to the latter, Sistani hoped that God Almighty keeps the region free of the savagery of savages such as the terrorist Daesh group, IRNA reported.

Ayatollah Safi Golpaygani had earlier congratulated the liberation of Mosul in a letter to Ayatollah Sistani.
