TEHRAN- National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC) has signed 33 memorandums of understanding (MOUS) on cooperation in development of Iran’s oil and gas fields in post-sanctions time, IRNA reported.

The MOUs have been made with 28 qualified domestic and foreign companies since implementation of Iran’s nuclear deal, known as Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), in January 2016  until the end of Iranian third calendar month of Khordad (May 22).

Among the foreign countries with them NIOC has signed MOUs, Russia holds the major share.

Development studies on some Iranian oilfields have been handed over to Russia’s Lukoil, Zarubezhneft, Tatneft and Gazprom.

Earlier this month, Iran signed a deal with Total and China’s state-owned National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC) for development of phase 11 of its South Pars gas field in the Persian Gulf.

The $4.879-billion deal was signed by NIOC, as the contractor of project, and a consortium of companies comprising Total, CNPC and Iran’s Petropars.

Malaysia’s Petropars and Japan’s Toyo are two other foreign companies with them NIOC has signed cooperation MOUs in post sanctions era.
