Iran, Greece have good capacities to expand ties: Takht-Ravanchi

TEHRAN – Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for European and American Affairs Majid Takht-Ravanchi said on Sunday that Iran and Greece have “good” capacities to increase ties, especially in area of economy.

“Iran and Greece enjoy very good economic capacities and there is the ground for cooperation in spheres of shipping, medicine, tourism and energy and the two countries have common views on many issues,” he said during a meeting in Tehran with Georgios Katrougalos, the Greek alternate minister of foreign affairs.

Takht-Ravanchi added the relations are “friendly” and the two countries are determined to strengthen political, economic and cultural ties.

For his part, Katrougalos said Greece attaches great importance to ties with Iran.

Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif met separately with the Greek official on Sunday.
