TEHRAN - More than 1,070 kilometers of highway and about 121 kilometers of freeway are under construction across the country, IRNA quoted Iran’s Minister of Transportation and Urban Development Abbas Akhoundi as saying on Wednesday.

According to IRNA, The official also mentioned the country’s railway development plan and noted that connecting five provincial capitals to the country's railway network is on the agenda for the ministry while over 1,591 kilometers of new railroads are under construction at the moment.
